The Federal Sales Director / Account Executive will define the Federal market strategy, business plan and sales strategy within a DOD and / or IC assigned market. They will lead a team of MapR internal resources including Inside Sales, System Engineering, Business Development and Federal Partner Manager. They collaborate with Federal CTO and Federal VP / GM to help establish MapR on major Big Data projects. Corporate resources in Marketing, Lead Generation, Engineering and Proposal Management will be available to support customer facing activities.

A minimum of 5 years of successful Federal Enterprise Sales experience is required for all candidates. They must demonstrate the ability to establish strong customer relationships before, during and after a complex sales campaign. The successful candidate will be able to build a collaborative solution-minded environment with the internal MapR team and our Federal customers.

• Lead collaborative sales campaigns with Federal End - Users
• Build U.S Federal pipeline and identify sales campaign to close business within assigned territory
• New account acquisition
• Sales engagement, qualification, closing of new prospects with channel partners.
• Weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasting to the Federal VP
• Build demand generation activity with marketing and channel partners
• Drive field requirements into Marketing, Operations and Product Management
• Work closely with the peer MapR team to find new and creative ways to drive co-sales opportunities.
• Close interaction and territory planning with Business Development to leverage programs and field activities with larger global partners and initiatives
• Minimum of 5 years related business software experience.
• Must have familiarity with consultative selling methodologies.
• Experience with contract negotiations required
• Prior experience in business application software sales as well as experience selling to the Federal government required
• Active Security Clearance for DOD and IC roles.
