SwiftStack, a Gartner 'visionary' and the developer of the SwiftStack multi-cloud storage & data management system, is looking for a talented Technical Support Engineer to join our team in San Francisco. Our software, open-source at the core, enables organizations to store and manage their data on both private and public clouds. SwiftStack integrates with Google Compute Platform and AWS, enabling customers to build hybrid storage clouds for their unstructured data, such as media assets, scientific data, backups and logs.

As a Technical Support Engineer at SwiftStack, you will deliver technical assistance and support to our customers, which include some of the most well know brands in media & entertainment, life sciences, gaming and the Fortune 500 (see some of our customers here). This includes proactive communication with customers, troubleshooting and close interaction with our development team.

You probably have a background in Linux, systems and networking administration, technical support and know your way around a data center. You will be a part of a great team and have the opportunity to learn a lot about distributed systems and cloud storage. In this role, you will also work closely with other teams at SwiftStack to ensure a resolution is reached and communicated to the customer since helping our customers is a team sport here at SwiftStack.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong systems background in Linux, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS and/or Ubuntu
  • Technical background in IT and systems administration
  • Expertise working with and troubleshooting networking infrastructure such as 10GbE, L3 switching, and load balancers
  • Experience with L7 protocols-especially http
  • Customer focus with the ability to calmly manage difficult situations
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with customers
  • Ability to engage with diverse teams within a company (Development, Product Management, QA, Sales)
  • Outstanding problem solving skills -- you should love digging into problems and find resolutions
  • Work authorization for the US
