We're looking for a Software Engineer, DevOps to join our Cloud Operations Team in Redwood City ,CA.

As we continue to experience a dramatic increase in the usage of our product, help us scale our infrastructure to handle massive growth in traffic, membership, and data.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform professional and highly specialized duties in the occupation of software engineering;
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and overall infrastructure;
  • Develop, create, and modify specialized utility programs for hardware, software, and infrastructure systems with aim of optimizing operational efficiency;
  • Analyze user needs and determine feasibility of software design;
  • Use scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of software design;
  • Design fault-tolerant mechanisms for keeping distributed systems healthy, and develop proactive monitoring back to DevOps
    and the development teams;
  • Focus on performance concerns of technical services, such as availability, throughput, latency, media fidelity as well as real-time performance considerations;
  • Enable rapid development through robust Continuous Integration and Deployment;
  • Script and automate core processes to improve efficiency as well as platform availability;
  • Ensure the highest availability of the platform and its core services; responsible for configuration deployment, backup, and operating systems updates; and develop and institute monitoring policies as well as intrusion detection systems.
Required Skills:
Requires Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or alternate, accepted degree field and completion of one graduate level course, one research project or one internship involving each of the following required skills:
  • Automation integration, configuration management, systems provisioning, build and release;
  • designing and developing continuous deployment pipeline, integrating Test-Kitchen, Vagrant, Git, Jenkins and Chef across platforms;
  • Building monitoring tools for robust scaling and reliability; and Cloud.
Skills can be attained concurrently and through internship completed for course credit. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
