Regional Sales Manager – Germany



The Rancher Labs team is seeking a Country Manager to develop our business in Germany. Our ideal candidate will have experience introducing new products to the German market, strong managerial and communication skills, and a strong background selling enterprise software. To succeed in this role you will need to be able to develop a go-to-market strategy for the German market, win early reference customers, and work closely with product management to ensure Rancher products reflect the requirements of the German market. This role will be responsible for hiring and developing regional sales, marketing and technical resources as the Rancher business in Germany expands.

Job Responsibilities include:

Driving revenue and growing market share in the Germany region.

Meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.

Building and managing regional sales, marketing and technical teams.

Developing and managing a robust pipeline for the German region.

Accurately forecasting sales for the region.

Developing and executing account plans for strategic accounts.

Initiating, growing and maintaining long term relationships with customers and partners.

Providing leadership and customer feedback throughout the sales lifecycle.

Acting as the public representative of Rancher Labs in Germany, including writing, speaking at industry events, conferences and seminars.

Working with regional SIs, ISVs, Distributors, and other partners to achieve sales objectives.

Work with existing customers to maintain customer satisfaction in the German region.

Managing expenses, legal requirements, and business operations in the German region.

Providing regular communication with global sales management and other executive staff to augment efforts and share support.

Travel up to 50% of the time.

Demonstrate excellent customer service skills through all levels of communication.

The ideal candidate has Experience that includes:

10-15 years of experience selling software products into the German market, and managing a sales team.

Experience selling software in areas such as virtualization, devops, cloud computing, or other enterprise software products.

Experience hiring exceptional sales representatives.

Experience securing and retaining Fortune 500 companies as customers.

Experience developing market awareness for new products in the German region.

Experience developing an open source community.

Ability to negotiate contract terms, pricing, renewals and cancellations.

Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude for learning.

Ability to set and maintain goals, welcome feedback and enjoy success.

Experience selling complex solutions that include multiple products and services.

Must have excellent, clear writing and verbal communication skill.

Exceptional organizational skills.

Enthusiasm for working in a startup environment.
