Over $89 billion was spent on cyber security last year to prevent unauthorized access of our important assets. The vast majority was spent on legacy technology - including firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and antivirus software - which have largely proven to be ineffective forms of protection against identity breaches.

The results? Two-thirds of enterprises were breached an average of five or more times in the past two years. Verizon reports that 81% of these breaches are due to compromised passwords and credentials. We've also witnessed the consequences of breaches impacting billions of consumers, a hacked election, and major outages of many well-known companies. According to the latest projections, global cybercrime-related damage costs are expected to exceed $6 trillion annually by 2021.

A recent study by Centrify and Dow Jones Customer Intelligence revealed that 68% of serious breaches would most likely have been prevented by either privileged user identity and access management or user identity assurance. In short: identity is the preferred and primary attack vector.

As traditional network perimeters dissolve, organizations must discard the old model of "trust but verify" which relied on well-defined boundaries. Instead, organizations must strengthen security by implementing a "never trust, always verify" approach for everything - including users, endpoints, networks, servers and applications. Zero Trust Security assumes that untrusted actors already exist both inside and outside the network. Trust must therefore be entirely removed from the equation. Centrify Zero Trust Security presumes that users and endpoints are not trustworthy and must be verified first so that security is not compromised.

The Position

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Communications, the ideal candidate is someone who loves to write, is a social media-minded storyteller, and enjoys leading or co-managing PR for a B2B/enterprise software company. As a PR Manager, you will be responsible for helping to shape our corporate narrative through the pitching, securing and delivery of positive press coverage. More specifically, you'll develop and implement creative, relevant and impactful PR campaigns. Experience with partner PR is highly desired and journalism or PR Agency background is a plus.

Additionally, he/she will be responsible for leading the standardization and direction of Centrify's social media strategy, and overseeing the execution for brand initiatives and marketing campaigns. He/she will serve as the organization's authority on social media marketing best practices, new and relevant social platforms and aligning social campaigns with business goals. As a part of the role, he/she will develop the strategy and oversee the execution of strategic paid and organic social media initiatives that expand brand awareness, drive customer growth and ultimately increase conversion.

The ideal candidate is an energetic, passionate and creative team player who has experience in driving category awareness in cybersecurity and experience in a communications role in integrated marketing.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the global strategy, planning, execution, and ongoing optimization of the main Centrify corporate social accounts, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.

Create and manage editorial calendars and publishing schedules for social content, promotions, and campaign activations on the main Centrify corporate social accounts.

Develop and publish compelling social content daily that aligns with Centrify's brand, editorial voice, and SEO best practices with a focus on growing followers and driving engagement

Manage and integrate strong global social engagement to support lead generation, awareness, and other campaigns

Develop, grow, and manage a global employee advocacy program. Drive content programming, monitoring social activity and insights to drive increased engagement

Partner with Sales and Marketing leaders to drive social selling best practices focused on building relationships, driving valuable conversations with prospects and customers and generating leads

Develop and lead a forum for social media teams to align on key programs and activations

Monitor performance metrics and platform updates for opportunities, and needs for post and creative optimizations for the main Centrify corporate social accounts

Partner with product and campaign marketing teams to integrate organic and paid social activities to optimize social marketing ROI

Partner with influencer marketing to develop effective campaigns

Manage weekly and monthly coverage tracking and reporting for PR and social

Support media relations initiatives by building media lists, pitching, creating briefing sheets and fielding inbound requests from reporters as needed

Support PR campaign logistics, which includes inter-facing agency teams

Lead speaking and awards opportunities

Write press releases, blogs and other collateral as assigned

Monitor competitor coverage and news

Maintain team's media assets (e.g., newsroom, press kit, internal reporting, etc.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

2-5 years in public relations, ideally with cybersecurity and/or enterprise software experience

Proven work experience managing social media programs in the B2B technology space

Deep understanding of social media channels and ways to leverage paid, earned, and owned media

Solid knowledge of SEO and keyword research

Excellent organizational, written, oral communication, and project management skills

Ability to juggle multiple projects and execute top-notch work against tight deadlines

Driven self-starter with a strong attention to detail

Strategic thinker who's always pondering the headline and narrative

High levels of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, good humor and commitment

Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field preferred

Proficiency with basic HTML, Gaggle, Trendkite, and BusinessWire preferred
