MapR Professional Services Engagement Managers are responsible for helping grow the PS business for the region and also ensure PS engagements are delivered successfully, completed on time and within budget. Your primary role will be to help deliver high-quality projects by serving as program/project manager for the PS engagements while working with sales reps to identify and drive new opportunities. MapR's growing customer base includes Fortune 500 companies which provide great opportunities to make an impact and also drive new services. This role provides a significant opportunity to learn and sell big data technologies and be involved in solving complex problems.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Regional Professional Services Practice Director (s) to drive new services business and deliver high-quality projects
  • Monitor and manage the delivery of a portfolio of PS engagements (regional)
  • Coordinate and communicate project status with key customer stakeholders
  • Work closely with sales reps in driving and supporting new business opportunities
  • Coordinate with PS partners on resource assignments and project status
  • Drive resolution of delivery problems, address resource contentions, shortages, scoping issues, manage expectations and resolve resource interruptions of any kind
Requirements for this position include:
  • Excellent and proven communication skills
  • Formal engineering project management experience
  • Technical degree, preferably BS Computer Science
  • Minimum of 10 years Professional Services/Consulting experience with proven success, career progression, and increasing responsibility
  • At least 5 years in a customer facing technical role
  • Big data and data warehousing experience preferable
  • Ability to multi-task and a can-do attitude
  • Ability to travel 25 - 50%
