In this role, you'll be Product Manager for the core capabilities of the InfluxData platform. Your focus will be oriented towards ease of use of the platform as a whole; focused on time to awesome for the developers who are storing, analyzing and creating tasks for metrics and events.

You'll collaborate with our world-class engineers to oversee the prioritization and planning of new capabilities, ensuring the security, and scale of the platform overall, and you'll be working closely with the core team to clarify requirements based on customer and community feedback, so you'll need to be patient and empathetic, but able to present and justify the prioritization based on real data. You'll also need to know how to manage your own time efficiently and world collaboratively with peers and members of other parts of the organization including documentation, QA, product marketing, support, and developer evangelists.

What you'll be doing:
  • Write and manage upcoming and in-progress stories for new features and capabilities
  • Take part in weekly planning meetings for the engineering team, during which upcoming features are discussed and prioritized
  • Be familiar with and stay updated on differentiating features in similar products; perform competitive analysis
  • Perform acceptance testing for completed work to ensure that it functions as intended
  • Frequently consult with users, sales, and our community members to gather feedback on future product requirements
  • Take a hands-on approach for developing demonstrations utilizing the product and highlighting its key differentiators
  • Write blog posts which surface valuable information about product developments and progress

Your skills and experience:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager at a minimum, (experience with data analysis or database-style products is ideal)
  • 1-2 years of experience as a developer is a plus
  • DevOps or data center monitor background desired
  • Existing knowledge of our product, market, and competitors is nice to have
  • Superior communication skills; both written and verbal
