Principal Software Engineer - MapR Data Platform
Looking for a fast-paced environment where you can learn push the boundaries of performance and scale? MapR Data Platform is built for Cloud, Containerized and on-prem deployments and provides scale and integrated security. It contains a robust NoSQL database, file system and messaging event store with integrated security. We are looking for talented engineers to help expand the functionality and make it the product of choice for AI/ML, Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka big data use-cases. In this role, you will:
  • Research technology trends and competitive products and deliver a high-performance data platform that runs analytic workloads in the cloud, containerized and on-premise environments on petabytes of data.
  • Design and implement key systems features including query, storage, indexing, memory management, HA, and APIs.
  • Make the product extremely easy to use for developers and administrators.
  • Work closely with product management and customers to define product features and strategic direction of the product.

Relevant skills & experience:

  • Passionate about learning, take pride in code quality and a self-starter
  • Strong C/C++/Java development and debugging skills
  • Delivered products like file systems, databases or messaging infrastructure, multi-threaded scalable and distributed systems, data intensive pipelines.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Will consider remote employees from USA/Canada with demonstrated success working as a remote technical leader.
