Job Description:

WideOrbit is looking for an IT Operations Engineer to operate and optimize WO Cloud, WideOrbit's Software-as-a-Service offering. In this role, you will ensure that the infrastructure and applications that power WideOrbit's SaaS and Managed Services run efficiently.

Here is what you'll be doing:
  • Administering the server fleet that makes up our customer facing Cloud/SaaS environments
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining server and network elements, either at our physical data centers, or our public cloud environments
  • Working in a project team to deploy new customer environments
  • Monitoring server, network and applications for availability and performance, and intervening when there's a problem
  • Assisting internal teams on behalf of our clients with processing standard change requests or investigating incidents

Here is what we're looking for:
  • 2+ years of IT server administration in a large production environment, either data centers or public cloud environments
  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows Servers from both the GUI and command line, as well as using remote management tools
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies a plus: Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix, MS SQL Server, Oracle databases, Powershell
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities while projecting a positive, confident attitude
  • Proficient at using IT management systems including ticketing systems, asset tracking, configuration management, remote management, monitoring and notification/escalation tools
  • Must possess strong written and verbal skills in English, type with proficiency and exhibit professional phone etiquette
  • Able to travel to our San Francisco data center location and lift up to 50lbs as part of computer equipment installation or maintenance
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including after-hours on call rotation including holidays and weekends
  • MCSE, MCITP, A+ or equivalent certification preferred
