We are looking for an experienced HR Compliance Manager to preserve the company's integrity and ensure our adherence to legal and ethical standards as well as enforce in-house policies. A great Compliance Manager is well-versed in legal guidelines and are professionals of high ethical standards. You must be able to balance being firm when necessary and flexible to ensure our work environment and company culture is respectful and inclusive.
Responsibilities
  • Be a trusted advisor to the HR and management team on all labor laws, both federal, state and local level including updates to any relevant regulations
  • Lead all company compliance with existing labor and government reporting requirements including any preparation of documents or reports related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Department of Labor (DOL), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Employment Development Department (EDD), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Workers Compensation, ADA, ACA and so forth
  • Develop and manage global policies, employee handbooks, benefits policies working closely with senior management to ensure legal and regulatory compliance as well as the interests of employees for headquarters and other offices
  • Resolve complex employee issues to mitigate legal risk and uphold the company's culture through coaching employees and managers and providing counsel in conflict resolutions
  • Assess business initiatives to identify and mitigate possible compliance risks and exposure while working closely with General Counsel
  • Be the HR point of contact for any and all HR and Financial compliance audits including 401K and 5500
  • Serves as the primary contact with the company employment law attorney and outside government agencies
  • Lead the initial development, delivery and coordination of HR services for any international expansion such as employee benefits, payroll, and immigration
  • Establishes and maintains company records and reports; able to direct others in the organization and adherence to record-keeping guidelines
  • Other responsibilities and project management as needed by the company
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Business/Employment law, Human Resources, Business Management or related field
  • 5+ years of work experience related to HR compliance and employment law related
  • Strong experience in educating, advising, counseling and operationalizing a broad range of legal issues with respect to labor and employment laws and tech industry best practices in California
  • Experience in program/project management experience, including change management, project management, stakeholder management, user training, and communications
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence others while working in a cross functional environment, including senior members of the business
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced environment, high sense of urgency with strong multi-task and prioritization skills
