We now have an exciting role for someone to develop the strategy and lead the worldwide team driving the execution of sales enablement for the Couchbase team and our partners. Successful candidates will have experience with sales and technical enablement in a subscription software/SaaS environment, proven experience onboarding and ramping new sales reps to full productivity as well as evolving the skills and growth of tenured reps, and, ideally, a good knowledge of database technologies.

The Sales Enablement leader needs to be adept at working with multiple organizations in the company to accomplish these activities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing and delivering effective content, systems and processes around enablement for Enterprise software products. You will have a demonstrated ability to "think big and act small", building and leading a team with diverse skill sets and backgrounds to help define and build the enablement and education model at Couchbase.

Location - Bay Area preferred, but not required.

In collaboration with Sales, Business Development (Partners), Marketing and Product Management, your responsibilities will include:
    • Building & leading the organization to drive the enablement strategy for Couchbase.
    • Regularly meeting with internal and external customers to plan work and solicit feedback on their issues and requirements.
    • Establishing programs to mobilize Couchbase and Partner organizations to position, sell, and deliver Couchbase offerings (products & services), including New Hire Bootcamps, Sales Kickoffs and ongoing Sales training events.
    • Prioritizing and leading the development of new enablement assets, including competitive positioning, pitch decks, etc., to meet the needs of the Field.
    • Managing the Couchbase sales enablement repository and ensure that all information is easily and readily accessible at point of need.
    • Designing, developing and maintaining learning curricula and content for Couchbase Sales and Technical teams and Partners.
    • Driving integrated enablement activities across different product launch phases to ensure enablement needs are well defined for a given launch or set of products/solutions/services.
    • Selecting and managing vendors, including technology partners such as training platform / administration providers and outsourcing partners to support content development and delivery.
    • Driving integrated measurement across all activities to improve effectiveness and impact of enablement for all target audiences.
    • Understanding market trends, innovation models and the implications for enablement delivery.
    • Proactively innovating, questioning current strategies and practice solutions, suggesting directional changes based on market conditions and sales, partner and customer experiences.


Preferred Qualifications
    • Tenured leader with a strong background in developing and leading distributed high-performing teams in sales enablement or partner/customer education.
    • Domain expertise in Database technologies (NoSQL, RDBMS, etc.).
    • Knowledge of Open Source software models & sales implications.
    • Enterprise software sales experience as an Account Manager, SE, Product Marketing Manager or Product Manager.


Minimum Qualifications
    • Strong experience developing and delivering training and enablement for a technology platform.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to think strategically, develop tactics, prioritize tasks and execute effectively.
    • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, exceptional cross-functional collaboration.
    • High energy/drive and ability to inspire others.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Bachelor's Degree; English, Business, Marketing and Teaching majors preferred.
