Massdrop is searching for an experienced Head of People. We are looking for a leader comfortable with a high growth environment who is driven by a genuine desire to help us build a great company. You will be responsible for all human resource functions including culture development, performance management process, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate has a collaborative attitude, makes thoughtful decisions in a timely manner, and never hesitates to roll up their sleeves to execute a full range of HR duties.
  • Execute the full range of HR duties, while simultaneously developing systems and processes for best practices as we continue to scale our company
  • Develop organizational and performance management plans as well as recruiting, onboarding, training, mentor, and leadership development programs
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, managers and individual contributors
  • Hire, develop and lead high-performing teams to run our people ops and recruiting teams
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local government laws

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA in Organizational Development or related discipline preferred.
  • PHR, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential a plus.
  • 7 - 10 years of HR Generalist experience, including leading the people ops components of a high-growth startup
  • Strong competencies within the HR function: employee relations, compliance, benefits, compensation, communications, change management, and culture building
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling people and talent strategy, culture and processes while overseeing day-to-day operations
  • Experience partnering with and influencing junior staff, developing leaders and senior leadership
  • Experience utilizing metrics and analytics to drive change and maximize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to deliver a high volume of high-quality work on a daily basis
  • Strong working knowledge of city, state, and federal employment laws is a must.
