HashiCorp is at the epicenter of the cloud adoption wave, helping shape how the world's largest enterprises are running their IT infrastructure. To help our customers adopt our products quickly and help fuel our company growth to support them, we're looking for an experienced performance marketing manager focused on our Terraform product.

Because we are product-led and all of our foundational technologies are open source, we take great care in Marketing to ensure that we are stabilizing and responding to the needs of our open-source users for technical help and content, while also helping respond to and support the interest of our enterprise customers. To do this, the Growth Marketing role is tasked with tactics that accelerate adoption and success for open source users, while also conceptualizing, planning, prioritizing, and executing growth tactics, especially around website traffic conversion for our enterprise products. You will play a key role in rapidly growing reach, engagement, pipeline, revenue, and eventually customer retention. Your work will directly supply top-line impact across the entire organization. You will be one of the founding members of a high-performing team, driving growth for one of HashiCorp's most adopted and well-known products. The team is uncommonly technical, results-focused, and flourishes with the intersection of data, product, engineering, and marketing.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco and will report to the Director of Digital, Brand, and Growth.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Building smart ways to help prospects accelerate expertise and adopt our open source offerings, and self-discover, try, and adopt our enterprise offerings. Coordinate and collaborate on content development for some upper funnel demand creation and distribution of our content, while putting a strong emphasis on mid-funnel acceleration.
  • Create, execute, and analyze marketing programs to activate, engage, convert and retain multiple customer segments.
  • Develop the strategy and execute, test, and scale high-ROI digital marketing campaigns across tactics that could include email, SEO, SEM, content syndication, and social and that appeal strongly to our highly technical target audience of IT authorities
  • Continuously optimize our acquisition funnel through rigorous experimentation and split testing, with the goal of growing customer acquisition and conversion efficiency
  • Build forecasting, measure, and report on the performance of all marketing campaigns, using data and analytics to assess how we are performing against our overall critical metrics like reach, brand awareness, and customer acquisition targets
  • Work with product, partner, and events team to maximize yield from webinars, nurturing, and other efforts
  • Work with go-to-market ops, sales, and marketing teams to ensure we're generating the right type and volume of sales leads and collecting high-quality data to understand performance
  • Own email marketing and cultivate strategy and execution, including creating and running the self-service trial process. Help grow our marketing database, activate our contacts, and increase online engagement
  • Build processes and frameworks that will scale with a growing organization
  • Publicize and share relevant insights from experiments, tactics, and projects

More details on the experience and skills you need for this role:
  • Experience identifying target audiences, working with customer segmentation and personalization, and creating campaign strategies
  • Quantitative analysis using SQL and other data analysis tools
  • Previous experience marketing to a technical audience and in close, reciprocal connection to an open-source product and community
  • Experience generating demand at an enterprise B2B company
  • Experienced understanding of SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, Salesforce, and other key web technology and analytics tools/platforms
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to compile and analyze campaign data to inform decisions
  • Deep expertise in designing, leading, and monitoring A/B and multivariate testing for conversion rate optimization
  • Hands-on experience with search platforms (Google AdWords/Bing) and native social ad platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Experience partnering with GTM and sales on pipeline development
  • Experience with marketing channel attribution
  • Experience working closely with product marketing managers to amplify key content and features
  • Strong editorial skills
  • Entrepreneurial zest and hands-on attitude
  • Bonus: SQL, statistical analysis, influencer relations
