InfluxData is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our applications team. In this role, you will be responsible to help grow our engineering team while working with team members on their growth and development. You will also work closely with product management and our support organization to ensure we are building software for our open source community and customers in a reliable fashion.
We are looking for candidates who value supporting and growing their team as much as their own personal achievements. You'll need to be open to experimenting, and iterating on process as the company grows. You'll be working closely with your team, so you'll need to be empathic, supportive, and excited to teach as well as learn.

What you bring to the role:
  • You have managed a growing engineering team
  • You know what traits make up great engineers and understand how to help people gain those skills
  • You are motivated by the success of your team
  • You have a track record of delivering great software on a predictable schedule
  • You like to learn from your team, and you enjoy teaching them as well
  • You have managed a projects backlog or have worked closely with a product manager to help define iterations
Bonus points if:
  • You have recruited and shepherded engineering candidates through the interview process
  • You have worked on large-scale distributed systems and microservice-based architectures
  • You have experience working on on large open source projects
  • You have worked for a startup
  • You have work experience outside of engineering, support, design, sales, marketing, etc
