Join our growing product management team to level up on cutting-edge technology, Golang, Open Source community management, PaaS operations, and to collaborate with our wide range of customers and partners.

You will be part of the product team, ensuring developers can effectively sign-up for and use the InfluxCloud platform for gathering metrics and events to build monitoring, analytics, and IoT applications. You will gather requirements, perform competitive analysis on features/functions, review pricing models and approaches, engage with financial systems, work with brilliant engineers and instrument the process to understand why developers are adopting, why they churn, and what can be done to delight them at every step of the way. You will develop strategy, participate in ideation sessions, create business cases to support product plans and shape go-to-market strategy while helping cross-functional teams understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company, including executives, sales, operations, marketing, technical teams, and third-party service provider/vendor contacts.

This role is based out of our San Francisco office.

What you'll be doing:
  • Gather and define market requirements - writing and prioritizing use cases
  • Write business cases to support product plans
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Use critical thinking to get to the root of product issues, executive questions, and be able to both deep dive but also cover broad topic areas to synthesize, analysis and produce succinct recommendation for path forward based on data
  • Develop the product roadmap, including feature enhancements
  • Interact with key stakeholders as part of prioritization and execution
  • Enable product support team, engage in testing and validation of the platform
  • Be the primary owner for all cross-functional communication related to InfluxCloud
  • Engage collaboratively with the marketing team to refine, review and develop new plans to grow subscribers and revenue
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to drive successful product launches and revenue enhancements
  • Develop plans to continuously improve the customer experience including deeply gathering telemetry on customer adoption, abandonment, churn, and usage
  • Follow current industry trends, competitive activity in the marketplace
  • Drive and own product deliverables - high-level business rationale, market/product fit, etc.
  • Conduct user experience interviews and testing to gather continuous customer insights
  • Work with the design team to define new user experiences that support and differentiate our offering
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Your skills and experience:
  • BA/BS Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years developing or managing complex high-tech products
  • 2-3 years product management experience with a SaaS or PaaS offering
  • Experience working with Agile development process with frequent release cycles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player, capable of working collaboratively within and across internal and customer teams

It's a plus if you have:
  • Strong grasp of the aspects of the developer tools market or software/hardware monitoring infrastructure
  • Experience working with SQL (or other query languages) along with other business intelligence tools
  • Familiarity with basic statistical functions such as arithmetic means, averages, standard deviations, definite integrals, etc.
  • Worked as a systems integration consultant listening to client requirements and implemented solutions which consistently delighted those clients
  • Proven ability to simplify abstract or architectural concepts
  • Intuition about what problem a developer is trying to solve, even if they have trouble articulating the challenge or provide a specific "answer" which should be generalized to meet the broader market
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Go (Golang)
