Mission: To be the MapR expert in Intelligent Application use cases, architecture, and value derived by customers in various industry verticals, so as to effectively communicate with industry analysts and drive awareness and preference for MapR.

Why this role matters: MapR needs a focused expert who can advance the awareness and preference of industry analysts by being deeply connected to customer use cases, while also being technically proficient in architectural concepts. It is essential that this communication be informed through a variety of customers across industries and unearth the hidden breakthrough opportunities for how MapR can be used for advantage vs. the competition.

Vertical industries: This role will guide the development of vertical strategies by distilling MapR core benefits and differentiators into vertical-specific messaging, keeping the marketing and sales teams aware of trends and topics within the industry so we may more effectively position our solutions, and develop new go-to-market and digital strategies.

Bridging Customers and Technology: The ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial. Included in the role is driving industry analyst communications, proactively secure briefings and feedback sessions to gain insight into industry issues and buying criteria for our products, and work to grow awareness of MapR with the objective of analysts providing favorable reviews to customers regarding our platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead industry analyst relations that favorably position MapR as a company, and MapR solutions for selected industries.
  • Blog and speak at industry events to evangelize MapR
  • Write or contribute to whitepapers and content that can be used in selling efforts
  • Be the company expert on Intelligent Application architecture and use cases
  • Serve as a conduit for industry trends, current events, and other noteworthy items that would empower sales to have more meaningful and strategic discussions with prospects Develop product positioning and messaging for industry solutions that differentiate our products in the market
