Job Description:

Our customers' satisfaction with our service is a critical part of WideOrbit's success. When our customers have a situation that's technically complex that can't be solved with our first line of support, they depend on our Development Support team. As a Development Support Engineer, you'll be helping our clients resolve their issues on several WO products that enable media companies to manage their operations and sales departments efficiently. In a sense, you're the bridge between our customers and our development team. This is a perfect opportunity for someone that has strong technical and interpersonal skills and could have an interest in software development in the future.

Here is what you'll be doing:
  • Assist our Product Support team in solving customer issues
  • Write scripts to detect and fix problems in customer databases
  • Support our Release Team when they upgrade customers to new product versions
  • Partner with our Professional Services team, which provides customized integrations with software from other vendors
  • Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs
  • Work with our Development team to verify their fixes successfully solve customer problems
  • Recreate customer issues on in-house databases
  • Be available to complete urgent customer requests during off-hours
  • Step through our product's Delphi source code to identify application behavior and bugs



Here is what we're looking for:
  • Experience working for a software company in a product support or development role is preferred
  • Strong SQL database knowledge, T-SQL is required
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Windows PowerShell.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of establishing credibility and professional relationships with key customers (internal and external)
  • Confident, professional, and effective communicator (both verbally and in written form) that can work with all levels and departments in the organization
  • Willingness to readily adjust to new demands, requirements, or directions, and the ability to shift priorities when necessary
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and balance competing tasks in a rapidly changing environment
  • Proven ability to tackle problems with haste and resolve completely
  • Interest and ability to learn the WO products in depth



Location:

This position will be based in our San Francisco, CA office.
