We are looking for a passionate developer advocate to be part of our DevRel group at InfluxData. If you have a strong technical background and want to share your experiences with the world of developers through blogging, tweeting, creating tutorials, code samples, answering questions on Stackoverflow then this job might be just for you!
The Developer Relations organization helps keep us connected to the communities that love technology as much as we do. Our focus is on reducing the time to awesome by creating technical content for developers who might be getting started with the technology, or need help around a particular roadblock.
This is a great role for anyone who has proven experience in the top languages we support (Java, Node.JS, Ruby, Python, C# or PHP) and who feels the passionate desire to take this experience and apply it to using our platform and tell the world about their experiences. Some travel, speaking engagements, hacking proof of concepts, and blogging. Sound great? We'd love to hear from you!
* This role is open to candidates living in the UK, Germany or Italy.

What you'll be doing
  • Regularly produce highly technical content consumable by developers as presentations, blogs, videos, articles, demos, and other similar activities
  • Drive the adoption of our technology by producing tutorials, code samples, code snippets etc. that can be expanded and enhanced on GitHub.
  • Research and answer technical questions on StackOverflow, Slack and our own developer community site
  • Own the client client library (for your language) for InfluxData
  • Regularly present at conferences, meetups and events showcasing InfluxData products and technology.
  • Own and drive attendance to meetups that you will create.
  • Be an advocate for developers internally and influence InfluxData's product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, PR, Marketing, Business Development and other cross-functional teams.
  • Build relationships with other technical experts and communities at other companies.
What you bring to the role
  • Recent software engineering or development experience, with coding experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, NodeJS, Ruby, Python, C#, PHP
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven writing skills (blogs, technical articles etc. that you can showcase)
  • Presentation skills (it's ideal if you have presented at technology conferences/hackathons/webinars)
  • Fantastic English communication skills - both written and verbal
  • The ability to travel at least 30% of the time

It's a plus if you have
  • Strong social following on twitter, linkedin, GitHub, StackOverflow
