Mammoth is seeking a CRISPR Scientist with expertise in CRISPR tool development and in vitro assays to shape product development in the company. The ideal candidate will also have direct experience designing innovative ways to prepare samples for product testing, developing nucleic acid amplification methods, and screening CRISPR guides. A strong background in protein and nucleic acid biochemistry is required. Further, the ideal candidate will be comfortable leading and managing others, including prioritizing of time, agendas, and projects to accomplish assigned goals.

  • Initiate, direct, and perform CRISPR product development including sample preparation, nucleic acid amplification and guide screening.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in technical areas to drive decisions involving designing, performing, troubleshooting, analyzing, and recording data for development and verification and validation studies.
  • Develop and optimize methods for nucleic acid amplification techniques.
  • Design and integrate sample preparation with CRISPR detection workflows.
  • Work closely with research, regulatory, design, and software teams to develop and validate diagnostic products.
  • Write reports and present results and project assessments to team.
  • Solve complex technology and development challenges.

  • PhD in relevant field with 5-7 years post-graduate experience, combination of postdoc and industry experience preferred
  • Strong background in molecular biology, genetics, protein biochemistry and nucleic acid chemistry
  • Experience with in vitro assay development and nucleic acid amplification techniques
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, data analysis, and interpretation skills
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with the ability to think innovatively towards efficient problem solving
