I’m pleased to announce that start-up CEO, entrepreneur, trusted board member, and industry leader Ben Golub has joined Mayfield as Venture Advisor. He has helped guide and lead many successful companies, including most recently serving as CEO of Docker. Prior to Docker, he was CEO of Gluster (through its acquisition by Red Hat), CEO of Plaxo (through its acquisition by Comcast Interactive), and an EVP/GM at Verisign. He currently serves on the board at Venafi and TrustArc, is an advisor to many early-stage companies, including Minio, Quilt, Streamlio and a number of non-profits.
We have admired Ben as a CEO, visionary strategist and great company builder. He is excited about trends in enterprise and open source, a key area of focus for us and the emergence of blockchain, which is an area of interest to both Ben and us.
As Venture Advisor, he will provide guidance to our portfolio companies, and help us attract and evaluate new opportunities.
“Mayfield is a firm I admire, and their focus on early-stage investing in the enterprise aligns very closely with my own experience and interests. The role of Venture Advisor fits in perfectly with my current focus on being advisor, investor, board member to companies.” says Ben.
Ben was a guest on my podcast, where he shares his philosophy and learnings.
Please join me in welcoming Ben to the team.
