Trends in Business Travel—& Personal Rewards

Business travelers have spoken: Rideshare makes business travel easier. Up to 90% of business travelers have taken matters into their own hands, and now use rideshare instead of taxis or rental cars.

These benefits and trends may show why Lyft's market share with business travelers grew 70% over the last year.

Our business travelers are constantly on the move — and data shows they want even more from business travel. Check out these top business-travel trends to see where our business travelers have been, and what matters to them.

By profession, the fastest ridesharing adopters hail from manufacturing, technology, and automotive industries. Retail and consulting follow soon behind.

Across all industries, business travelers value convenience and personal perks. Data shows they want to earn personal rewards above easier expensing and simple payment options.

What’s good for employees is also good for organizations. Rewards — plus easy expensing options — make business travel a breeze for passengers. Businesses, meanwhile, see savings of 30-50%, thanks to a high adoption of rideshare programs.

As one Lyft Business passenger notes, “Ridesharing allows me to focus on clients instead of finding parking, getting gas, or returning a rental car."

That’s why Lyft Business is rewarding business travelers for their hard work. Today, Lyft’s Business Rewards program is available to all business riders. Get $5 in personal Lyft credit for every 5 business rides you take.

Want to start earning rewards for your work rides? Create a Business Profile to become eligible.

To become eligible for this promotion, you must create a Business Profile in the Lyft app using a qualified work email address (generic email domains such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail & others will not qualify) and receive an email directly from Lyft to opt-in to this program.  Once opted in, you will be eligible to earn $5 credit for every 5 Qualifying Rides, up to $100 in total credit earned. A “Qualifying Ride” is defined as a ride: (1) taken in business profile mode at the time of rate and pay; (2) taken in the United States between 6/1/18 and 9/30/18 11:59PM local time (“Promotion Period”); and (3) that has a total value greater than $10 (excluding cancellation charges and damage charges). Credit earned will expire 365 days from the day it is added to account. Lyft credits can only be applied towards rides on the Lyft Platform taken in personal mode and cannot be applied to tips, cancellation fees, damage charges, or taxes. Cannot be combined with other ride credit or offers. Promotion subject to Lyft’s Terms of Service.
