Just over one year ago, we announced our partnership with Girls Who Code — an organization that aims to inspire, educate, and equip girls with the computing skills they’ll need to pursue 21st century opportunities.
We’re excited to share that in just over 12 months, Lyft passengers have donated over $1 million to Girls Who Code. These donations have helped launch over 3,500 clubs nationally — reaching 84,000 girls — and have helped fund financial assistance for students, classroom equipment, and teacher trainings. Beyond app donations, we’ve also been excited to partner with Girls Who Code on events like Brit + Co’s Create Good in New York City last fall, which raised over $21,000 for the organization.
"We couldn't be more excited to be celebrating the $1 million milestone with our friends at Lyft through their unique Round Up & Donate program," said Founder and CEO of Girls Who Code Reshma Saujani. "And the moment is made even more special knowing that this was made possible by the riders themselves!"
